Anette Baldauf, sociologist and cultural critic, lives in New York and in Vienna. Her research interests include feminism, pop- and consumer culture, postindustrial city formations.
She is the co-editor of Lips. Tits. Hits. Power? Feminismus und Popkultur (Folio: Vienna 1998) and Shopping. Manifestationen jugendkultureller Alltagspraxen (BMWF 2001);
she co-curated the exhibition “Shopping” (Generali Foundation: Vienna 2001, with Katharina Weingartner) and co-directed the documentaries “Remake Las Vegas” (2002, with Dorit Margreiter) und „Knock Off. Die Rache am Logo“ (ARTE 2003, with Katharina Weingartner).
She currently finishes her book “Entertainment City: Entertainment Industries and City Development” and teaches at the New School University.
